copy .avi to dvd

I am new - sorry for asking stupid questions.
I downloaded some .avi movies and I am able to view them with RealPlayer on my PC.
However, I am not able to burn them. I am using WinDVD Creator (which came with Nero 6).
What is to do? I tried almost everything.

My suggestion would be to go to the Nero website support section and d/l the user manuals. They are well written and have easy to follow instructions.

You can also search(upper rightt) for --- DVD ---
