hi im cvurrently using MYNAPSTER to download songs as ive just bought an ipod and i need some songs.

so i followed some instructions that said change your ip and up adress to 6346 and also something else to 127.0.0.1, which i have i can get some songs but now its not connecting and i may done something wrong i cant even get back to that place in the computer where i changed this can anyone help??

also where and how is best to download songs?? i mean the easiest and fastest, i pretty much need help all round so if someone out there could "hold my hand" through everything it would be much appreciated.

And I though Napster was almost dead. Get a refreshing Gnutella program. Plenty to choose from. How about LimeWire.

thanks lord of the rings, do you know a better mp3 sharing site than my napster?? ive tries limewire but i only ever get 1 bar of connection and cannot get songs.

Central server for p2p is dying out b/c of law suits, etc. The Gnutella network does not use central servers but the files are what each individual user decides to share. This can make it very interesting because you have users from all over the world. It tends to mean that more than one user will have the same file & thus making it easier to downld. MyNapsters GNetwk ability is probably limited & possibly out of date if it has one.

BearShare does NOT run under Java... It is a Windows based OS client and may give you fewer problems re: install and certainly with future upgrades...

ares p2p is a verry nice program and it has 1 piece of spyware that you can select to not install :) allso the gui is verry nice, and built in chat and stuff. http://www.aresgalaxy.org/
