Information urgently required
 

I wanted to know how will I know whether the files I download contains any virus or not? What files should I be most careful of?Suggest any free anti virus software which could help me from wrecking my system?

Is there any other protection available?

I've found that it's best to use a few different AV programs. I use Norton AV, AVG, and Avast. In my past experience one AV will find what the others won't. The programs do take some configuring though, so they don't get in the way of each other. My 2 cents.

Thanks for the reply Kath.And it is also true that one AV is insufficient against this menace.
But I am not being able to download the AV as it requires admin login for downloading .Is there any other way to surpass her supervision.

You are unable to download/install programs because of your level of access to the system? I think that it would be a lot easier to talk to the person that has admin access rather than trying to circumvent the system's security. I'm sure that they would be in favor of software that would help to protect the system. Good luck.

Basically what I take the quote to mean is that *everyone who likes the PC doesn't like Micro$oft*. This is funny because the CEO of Micro$oft - Bill Gates - said it.
