1st time making a MP3 cd w/ nero

I just bought my first portable mp3 player and I'm trying to make a mp3 cd. I know how to do it, but when using Nero I can't put the songs in the order that I want to, like I can w/ a regular cd. Is this some kinda flaw in Nero or is there something I can do?

kbearmoney, you should be able to move your music around on nero before you burn to disk. Just "grab and drag" to where you want them.

I can't. It won't let me. I can click and drag w/ audio cds, but not when I make mp3 cds. When I click and try to drag the files, an icon of a white piece of paper comes up, and when I leg go in the new spot, everything falls back into the same order. Which is either by artist, album, etc. It really sucks. I'm using Nero 6 ultra edition version 6.6, the latest. Like I said, it's my first time, so I know I haven't screwed anything up. Is there some kind of options or settings that I need to go to. Should I reinstall it?

hmmm, i haven't had this problem before using my version of Nero. I'm not sure how to advise you on using it the way you want to.

If noone else helps you, try downloading a free app called Burn4Free that will let you put your songs in order (drag and drop).
Sorry :(

This might sound like a far out suggestion, but try using iTunes for burning your mp3 disks. At least with iTunes you can arrange the songs as you please. Whether you arranged the playlist within LW or within iTunes. iTunes can burn cd's & dvd's. And it's free: http://www.apple.com/itunes/download/

But you'll need to copy the songs into iTunes music library before you can do that. For clues on this see How to transfer music to my iPod (& iTunes)

Nero

I use Nero 5.x to burn CDs, to get the songs in the order I want them I rename each song in the following manner:

a - song title 1 - artist 1

b - song title 2 - artist 2

and so on, that way the tracks fall naturally into the correct order.

You could also use numbers instead of letters of the alphabet but the numbers must be 01, 02, 03 and so on
