Direct Connect
 

My friend and I are both behind firewalls and thus can't direct connect. But the other day I typed his name into the all types search and I could actually see all of his files. Then I tried it again and it didn't work! Was this some sort of glitch or is it an alternative to direct connect, cause I would really like an alternative so I can direct connect with him. Otherwise, can someone give me the link to the configuration thing for my firewall. Thanks

1. Did you configure your firewall so it allows LW full access (advisable not to have 2 active firewalls b/c they can interfere with each other); Firewall configuration instructions (click on link)

2. Do this test after LW's been open at least 15 mins: Bug Report instructions & sample image Is the result True/False? If false then you still have a firewall problem. That might be due to either your softw firewall or a modem/router that uses a NAT firewall.

3. Did you see How to use Magnet Links & Direct Connect You know magnet links is another way you can connect & share files with a friend. Send them the magnet links & once one of you connects can then browse, etc. It's always easier to browse from the downld window compared to the search results window.
