copying films on to DVD's
 

Hi folks

I am a new user to livewire and I am experiencing problems copying my video downloads to dvd's, can anyone help. I have DVD shrink and Nero 6. I can burn them to a disc, however they will not play in a DVD plaer.

Make sure you choose Video format & with video dvd - UDF output format. Sorry I don't have nero 6 so I can't be more specific. (On mine I select DVD-ROM (UDF) output.) Check/research your set-top dvd player. See what it can play. Some only play certain brands of dvd-r. Some only play DVD - or + format.

But it also depends on the files you're using. If you're using avi or mpg files then Nero 6 should be able to convert & shrink the video itself. But if you have extracted a dvd & use shrink to reduce its size, then the video setting within Nero might be a little different since you'll have a VIDEO_TS folder.

BTW if you have a DVD-RW burner & your player supports RW then try them out with rw disks.
