cable/dsl, T1 or T2?

First post time so please be gentle!

I live in the UK and have a 2Mb adsl connection. How do I set up limewire to make the best of my connection?

My downlink speed is 2048kb/s or 256KB/s
My uplink speed is 256kb/s or 32KB/s

When I select speed Cable/dsl my downloads are limited to 44KB/s and uploads are limited to 44KB/s

When I select speed T1 my downloads are limited to 124KB/s and uploads are limited to 124KB/s

When I select speed T3 my downloads are limited to 370KB/s and uploads are limited to 370KB/s

Ideally I'd be able to enter my own connections speeds like in Emule but that doesnt seem possible. I'd like to be able to limit downloads to 240KB/s and uploads to 25KB/s, is this possible? Can you do this with the Pro version?

Sorry for all the questions, and thanks.

Here's some links on what speeds are: 1. What speeds are T1/T3, etc. for LW, & also 2. More on LW connection speeds, & lastly 3. What is a T1?

Normally, the rule of thumb is to allow about 80-90% of speeds for LW, & the remainder for browsing. This Optimising LW & Maximising Uplds & Dwnlds is a good thread to get an idea of your settings for ideal use of LW.

It's also included in this: follow “ALL” the off-shoot links to find hints & extra skills: To continue files downlding (click on link)
