infected folder ??

I have downloaded music from Limewire and once it finishes downloading I move it the correct folder. I have my music separated by artists into different folders and when i went to play from 3 different folders, I noticed that these folders have sub-folders in them with garbled characters and I cannot delete these folders to get rid of them.

The folder looks like this l<*_{z and so on
When I try to delete the folder i get a message that reads 'The file, directory, name, or volume label syntax is incorrect. If anyone could help me on this matter, i would greatly appreciate it. I am a new member and anything would help.

Whenever I have something out of the norm appear on my PC, I always run a virus scan, do that first.
