Need help switching video players from quicktime to windows media player!!!!

I've had limewire basic for a while now and before all my videos that i have downloaded on limewire were viewed on windows media player. I left my computer one day, come back the next, and everything switched to quicktime. My quicktime is messed up big time and I cant even uninstall it or reinstall it for whatever reason. I want to know how to switch my video player back to windows media player. Some advice would greatly be appreciated.

Outside of Limewire

Just right-click on a videofile, choose open with>choose program. The click on WMP and check the "always use on..." box. Press OK

You have to do this with all formats. (e.g. if you do this with a .avi file then Quicktime will still open when clicking on a .mpg file)

for some reason it doesnt show that option

What Windowsversion do you use ?

Windows Xp

it just shows me i can either launch, delete, etc etc

Also before next to the video file it showed me the windows media player sign, now it shows the quicktime sign. How do i restore it to the default one? Is there anyway i can reset the whole thing?

You have to do this outside of Limewire

Your downloads will usually be at

C:\Documents and Settings\**Your Username**\Shared
