Subtitles? Where?

I have downloaded quite a few movies through Limewire, and are currently undergoing the pleasurable/timeconsuming/mind-numbing/boring task of putting them on media that can be viewed off my computer.

But I have found that I do a lot of watching movies at night. Having the landlord/-lady, sleeping almost directly on top of my TV, I wondered where you might go to find subtitles for many of these movies. I know there aren't for all....

Any help (links) would be great.

Some do include sub-titles. Many don't. If you use VLC player you can enable it thru the video menu (also check your preferences). If you want to try out VLC which most of us recommend here; VLC - (click on link) _ (choose nearest mirror site)

To see what it can do see http://www.videolan.org/vlc/features.html

You can obtain files with a .srt extention These are subtitle files. I've no idea how they work, but this link should be helpful. http://www.moviecodec.com/topics/5605p1.html

Please let us know how you get on :)
