The information you're providing are not enough to enable me to help you...
Does G-Spot recognise the file as a media file? Does it show which codecs were used to compress the file? If so, which??

You can also check the media type with VLC directly. Go VLC>View>Stream and Media Info while the file is playing.....

I'd reckon to convert the files with an external converter and then try nto burn it again with the CD Burn function of the WMP.
A good program to convert those files ( I actually assume them to be .avi types) would be the Super Converter, a free program downloadable from here:

Convert the file(s) to VCD Compliant, that should do it.....
hi FootoftheHill could you please tell me how to burn an OGG music file to a cdr because I also keep getting an error message in my windows media player saying there are either errors in the file OR are missing burn rights. i would be very thankful.

You can use the Super Converter mentioned in my post to convert it to "mpg VCD Compliant"......
The Super Converter does support this kind of files:

Funny that you got redirected to IBM.....I tried the link and it worked just fine for me; of course after reading about the functions of the Super Converter, one has to go back to the company's main page and then go to the download page...

Anyways, here is a direct link to the download page....(scroll down to the bottom of the page to get to the download link):

Hmm, I've realized that you are talking about a music file....., before I thought it was a video file.

Maybe the Super converter ain't that good at converting music files, so it supports that function. But then you have to use MP3 as output format...

In case it won't do it either with the changed output format, you could try this free audio converter.....though I haven't tested this one yet:
SC Free Audio Converter 7.0.0.0
