Convert Movies?

So this probably sounds stupid but how do I watch the movies. They're all in windows media player format so I can't watch them, how do I convert them so I can actually watch them? Do I need a special program?

wondering why November 15th, 2006 11:15 AM

With WMP you need the correct codecs to be able to watch certain formats..
The VLC player already has the necessary codecs installed ...
This thread will give you links to the downloads you may want...

mystiksouldier I was pleased to see your other post, but it would be prudent of you to read the forum rules so that you know what can or cannot be posted here. It is against the forum rules to discuss copyright violation.. pleeeeeeease amend your post before a moderator does :):)

btw the VLC player which WW recomended, which is free and open source, is what I would recomend

I personally don't see where the BSPro Player is copyrighted. Also, I don't see how there is a difference between my recommended player and the VLC Player. If I posted a reply to a person in need, and had a question that needed a answer. Why am I the one that is at fault , when the posted question was placed in this area of the Forum?

I googled it earlier and found you needed to pay for it That means advocating getting it for free off LW is against forum rules. There may be no difference between the players although I doubt it. If there is a free and good open sourse application that many use and trust and a paid for one that could be got off a p2p network as you suggest ... possibly loaded with malware etc. ..... then what choice would YOU make :)

The forum rules actually state "Warez, copyright violation, or any other illegal activity may NOT be linked or expressed in any form"

really...guess you can't read then....there is a free version, and a pro version..the pro version is for [b]******/b], by the manufacturer...hence, it is copyrighted...

in a nutshell, you without a doubt recommended that someone download a copyrighted program....therefor you broke the forum rulez...

does that answer why you are the one at fault?

while I will in no way argue your thought that Bs Pro Player is better than VLC, it is a fact that VLC is freeware and Bs Pro is not..end of discussion...continue at your own risk

Please Accept My Apology

I totally apologize for referring a copyrighted program. It will definitely not happen in the future. I'm done offering assistance to anyone in need. I've helped people experiencing problems to the best of my ability, but it seems that I've apparantly went beyond the restricted boundries. Sorry for any inconvenience people. I do hope that my replies to those that were in need were helpful. Take care and peace out.

Hey ... apology accepted ... I was only pointing out the ground rules ..and they exist for important reasons...Honestly... You haven't been here long enough to do your first storming out. You need at least 100 post before you can do that :):)

Appreciate Your Input

Thanks for you input and concern Hobo. I really don't want to be banned from the forums due to ignorance on my behalf. I appreciate that you brought this to my attention. Learn from your mistakes , I guess. I made one and learned that another one won't happen in the future. Over and out.
