Can You change a song file size with out ruining the song?
 
Can you change a song file size with out riuning the song? I have some program but I don't know what to look for. Please make it simple:confused: Thank you for any help

Using software like iTunes you can alter the bitrate of a song ..which changes the size proportionally, but the quality will drop also. I suspect you are trying to free up disk space. I have done this myself, but realized that a better idea was to install a second hard disk ..(you could use an external one) and keep your files good (or you can burn them to data disk or audio CD). If your files are 128 bt rate, you should not try to make them smaller. The quality .. not good at 128 .. will get rotten.

you are wonderful. That was explain so will with out all that hip talk. For so reason I had a brain fart and could not remember that file size have nothing to do with how long a song is. My problem is slove. thank you...

lets think about this...yur gonna recompress and already compressed file:nono:

as noted in the other 'hipper' replies to this question (which you posted twice) reacquire the file at a lower bitrate..
