Help please (delete LW but save files)

If you delete limewire off of your computer does it delete all those songs off of itunes that you got from limewire? I wanted to delete it but do not want to lose the music off of my computer. If you know anything about this that would be great

wondering why April 12th, 2007 12:44 PM

Limewire stores all of your files in a folder on your HDD called the Shared Folder, to find this folder click on one of your files in the LW library and select explore, your folder should show up...
So by uninstalling Limewire that shared folder won't be effected, but if you delete anything from there itunes will not be able to find it to play it....

To uninstall Limewire make sure you use the LW uninstaller which you will find in Start > All Programs > Limewire...;)

I put all my music and sent it to a seperate file. Then I deleted limewire and mad sure I had the file still. That way I could just open the music on Windows media player or Itunes when I wanted to listen to it.

Hope I helped.

Hey Wondering why. I went to delete the Icon for LW before I uninstalled it and it brought up a window saying are you sure you want to delete LW and then it also said, If you want to uninstall the program use, Add or Remove programs. I know that uninstalls it, but does it work the same was as going to star>all programs> Lw> uninstall.

Hmmm that's strange because if you uninstall it from add/remove it can cause heaps of problems...Do it using the actual uninstaller in the All Programs...:rolleyes_2:

That's why I was asking because I don't see it one my start programs any more. I didn't know If I actually deleted it or It's just hidden somewhere or something.

How do you put the music in a seperate file?

I did the search on Lw, after it was done 100% with no problems. I went to my libray. then hit the explore icon. It brought up every item I have download (after I down load them and move them to a diff file I delete the so it only showed the ones I download that day) the I right clicked and highlighted every song or Movie ( I had a couple of problems with the movies, Music was fine) then to the left it should say move items, move content, or move to file. Something like that I can't rember. Then click on it and it should bring up a small window, Just select the Location you wish the content to go in and the hit ok.

You then go to Windows Media Player of Itunes. Go to file open or new playlist and open the content from the file you put it in.

Hope I could Help.
