Which client are you using? If you're using LimeWire, read through this thread below, it has heaps of info.
Transferring music to iPod & iTunes

basically, you want to get your songs from say a folder, onto your ipod? okay, first thing is to load up itunes with your ipod connected. then click on the ipod tab, you want to choose the option that lets you manage songs manually.
then drag the songs from the folder, to your itunes library or straight onto your ipod. if you drag them into your itunes library, you will get the option to convert any song the ipod wont be able to play, into the correct song type, that the ipod can play. hope this helps. reply if you dont understand any of what i said..... :xeri_ok1ani:

just start itunes go to your music libary on ipod have lime wire open beside it then just click and drag to your libary
