Widows Vista and Windows Media player - will not let me play mp3's

My new version of Widows Vista willnot let me play mp3's when using windows mediaplayer, even though the extension is assigned to it any ideas on how to solve it would be appreciated

Is it possibly a problem re: "Rights Management" ?
