Lord of the Rings has a distinguished reputation

It will most likely be a setting on your media player at a guess. It may be as basic as the old floppies or zip disks that had a write protection tab on them.

Did you read the SD/MMC media manual about how to add music files?
Some portable devices require other sofware to help add music to them.

You didn't give us brand or model information so it's difficult to advise.
