video files - Sound but no picture ! Why ?
 

Hi any help appreciated. I'm having difficulty playing my video downloads. They download just fine from limewire but when I play them back, there arent any pictures and all I get is the sound ie the video plays but no images/pictures on the screen. it is completely blank. can anyone help please? thanks

1st -
What 'player' are you trying to use for viewing your video files ?
What type of video files are you referring to... .avi or .wmv or .mpg or what ?
Do you have any CODEC 'packs' installed ?

Now, if you are REALLY impatient... :eek:

Download the VLC player from VLC media player - Overview

and next download the standard CODEC Pack from Cole2k Codecs


There are many other choices available to you but these two will probably get you going...
You can always try other stuff later...

The VLC player is simple-clunky looking... Don't be deceived !
If you download the Cole2k Codecs, be sure to only run the simple or easy installation. (You do NOT need the toolbar that is 'offered' !)
