D/Led Movies but NO sound when played on my Mac - Please Help

I have a Mac and have downloaded some movies but I can't get sound from them. What do I have to do?

What you need are CODECs.
I admit to about 95% ignorance re: CODECs for MACs !

Hope you get some suitable help in Tips & Tricks !

btw... be SURE to be very specific as to your OS and whatever "player" you are trying to use !

VLC media player has alot of codecs WMP doesnt.You can download it free at cnet.com
