Are There any types of file extensions i can search for that have good quality video? I've been using the advanced search pane in lime wire pro, and set it to 500mb or higher, plus excellent quality only, and plus 1:00:00 time only, and still i can't seem to find good quality video. To find movies on lime wire i typically search for these file extensions: .avi .xvid .divx, should i be using a diffrent file extension to search for better quality video?? please help

Well back in the day when I used LW I would ONLY Download AVI's between 700-800mb's.
Something that will help you conciderably, when it comes to Video files is to use Bitzi. This will give you an idea of the quality of the file because they are rated by other users and members. What version LW are you using?? |

Im Using Lime Wire Pro, and Divx Pro, yet I'm still having difficulty getting good video. What do you use to download good video files? Divx says to search or look for .mkv files, but theres not many on lime wire![]() ~KaiN~ |

Movie download issues (click on blue link) (2nd last post has information on best video formats.)
Best mkv files you will find via torrents. mkv files can be literally any format however, since mkv is simply the outer shell of the file ... the actual file-type & quality of it could be anything, same way as avi & mov can be any video format underneath. I/we normally recommend using VLC - (click on link) for playback since it has the more recent developments of the (H.264) X.264 format included, which other H.264 formats have not caught up to yet, including DivX's version (which was only in recent months released anyway. But DivX do things 'their' way (& in a patent method) not the way of the rest of the market. They suddenly realised they'd been left far far behind in the market before they eventually turned to using H.264 just recently. Were years behind.) You are probably more likely to get high definition videos with mkv files. I share a number myself; music concerts. But I either share them as mkv or mp4/m4v (H/X.264 format). So .. search .mkv, .mp4, .m4v .. but be wary you might get some audio files in your search results if you search mp4 unless you do a specific video type search. |

![]() Thank you for taking the time to help me out. I guess the only way to be certain is the preview feature on lime wire. What I really needed is some extra file extensions to search for, so thanks a bunch. I guess Lime Wire's not everyone's favorite these days, but I'll keep at it. Thanks for your insight and expertise. |

and oh .. best to preview directly from the incomplete files .. not via LW's preview function. Although that works fine, it leaves a preview file in your incomplete folder.
