W2000 and Xolox? My Xolox client gets stuck three or four seconds after launching the app. I run it on Windows 2000 with Service Pack 2. Any ideas? SL |
You'll need to post more details if you expect anyone to guess what's wrong! |
I also have w2k+sp2 and it works fine. |
i'm having the same problem with the install package. after d/l ing the exe and trying to install the app stalls after a few seconds. any feedback about this would be appriecated. |
Hi, I have no problems with w2k and xolox... Do you have any firewalls or security software that may cause the problem? Morgwen  |
Confirmed I have the same problem running XoloX under Windows 2000 Professional. After the program installs, I launch the app and see the splash screen. The splash screen does not go away and I have to end the task. The program says "Not Responding" in the Task Manager, and there is no disk or other activity. |
Got Win2k Pro + SP2 + Zonealarm + McAffee 5 and no problems so far... |

what will Kutulus say to this? I think he will not be your friend anymore... :D I know you will say its only your job to test xolox... But will Kutulus believe you? He is mighty with his borg... Resistance is futile! Morgwen P.S.: Keep smiling its a joke! :D |

i'm not sure if its any use but i use win2k, and i've got no problems with the cracks, i've used v1.13 and v1.15 and its all been fine. v1.12 also never gave me any hassle. how about those that are having problems post up more details about their systems and also other file sharing programs they have - a pattern might emerge and we might discover whats wrong. |
Xolox and Win2K I am having the same problems with Xolox. After the demise of version 1.12, I was able to make version 1.13 work again -- not entirely sure if by removing my network plug or by setting my hosts file to point Xolox to 127.0.0.1. But the it stopped working after a reboot and I never could make it run again, no matter what I tried. I am running win2k pro in a LAN behind a proxy *** firewall, with a socks proxy that I know its working. My machine is a PIII 1GH with 192 MB RAM. I am still suspicious that the problem might lie with the network which is sometimes badly maintained, but I can seem to pin the problem down. Meanwhile, Xolox just freezes on startup... :( Hope someone can enlighten me. Midas |
Delete the xolox.htm file in you program directory. It will get recreated when xolox runs but it will get you past the first screen. I had this work 100% of the time. You may have to delete it again the next time you run and I can't tell you why it works but try it and see. |
