WinXP and Xolox

I'm running Win XP and Xolox and have had no problems for a week, I am very pleased with it. I set a ton of stuff to download before work and when I get home it is nearly done with all of it.

Try Downloading something a little bigger than porn images.. your opinion may change!

I also have XP and am running XoloX and am very pleased. I dont understand the last post because I have dowloaded many files, iso's, etc. many close to 700,000 kb to 1 gb and it works great, much faster than any other Gnutella Client.

I apologise for the comment(Joke), I think its a great little program I don't like the way you cannot check the users shares.. like you can in kazza.. But apart from that it's great and works faultless in my winxp pro

Xolox and winXP totally sucks here. When i try to connect is freezez all my programs for a while. After it's connected everything seems slow and downloads are very slow.

I agree

Windows XP and XOLOX do not go together. Like Pine Sole and Clorine Beach. It will kill you.

Crashes almost every damn time. I have had enough
time to uninstall and what for competent programming.

Message to XOLOX programmers: call Bill Gates for help....(satire)

In fact, I just had to ctrl-alt-delete this S.O.B. program. CPU running at 96 !!!!!!!!!!!!!

Junk.....

Windows XP and Xolox work fine together. It depends on the computer's ability and the software installed, like any other program. If you have 8MB of RAM and 10 programs running in the background, what do you expect? A speed burst? My computer isn't anything special, besides the fact that I keep the OS and software fine tuned. Don't give up on Xolox and Windows XP, just seek help.

Xolox and WinXP

Works great for me, I have Athlon T-Bird 1.2ghz and 512mb ram, uses an average of 10% of my CPU (which is alot, but acceptable)

I've been running the same instance for 2 days without any problems and I've recieved several very large (600MB plus) files.

Very nice program...

Sincerely,

Unregistered ;)

I like it too, but i think i'll stick to kazaa, it just has more functions, and it has more search results!

Unregistered October 30th, 2001 09:07 AM

works fine

pentium MMX @ 233 here. runs fine. less than 5% cpu use.

if there is an issue with it running weird on anyone's system, its either *your* system, or some obscure imcompatibility no one else has come across.

Junk.....

I have been running WinXP and Xolox continually for about a week now. I get the odd error message after leaving for more than four hours or so (this could have do to with going into suspend mode). If I quite Xolox and relaunch it then both the uploads and downloads seems to resume where it left off.

I have downloaded several files that were in and around the 1GB mark and have had no troubles.

One thing I did notice was if I set my upload rate to the highest number (12) then the CPU usage did get rather annoyingly high. It seems to happen less at 11 and it seems to run perfectly at 10 (or lower). Of course the default here is only 3 so you can image that it should run perfectly for most users who don't change this setting.

Sometimes, Xolox works great on Win XP. Other times, like today, it just freezes and gives my CPU the work out of it's life. Xolox is great anyway, when it works.

Works better with XP than others!

I had tons of problems running XoloX on my Win2k Server (caused reboots, corrupted its temp files, etc...), but it's been running much smoother on XP. Still, we need a bug-fix release *quick*. - JL
