site charging for limewire program

HI Guys and Galls.
I've been a limewire user for about a year.
What prompted me to find the limewire site and join up was being charged for the limewire program by the website, easymusicdownload.com
I wanted to get this information to the people that should know and this was the only way I could think of doing it.
I sent a complaint to google about it too. I came across the above website when I did a google search 'music downloads' and they are in the sponsored links section.

Take it easy,

Stephen

Scam sites

Stephen

It's obvious from your post that you don't know this but there are hundreds, if not thousands, of bogus sites charging for free P2P applications, like Limewire Basic, Bearshare Lite, etc.

The reason why they do this is because it is easy money for them, all they have to do is pay google and any other search engine to list them first whenever anyone searches for music downloads. Then the scam sites just sit back and wait for the internet novices to come running, throwing their money at them.

At the moment, there is nothing anyone can do to stop a scam site from setting up shop and selling novices free apps, you see most of the scam sites are outside of the legal jurisdiction of most (if not all) western countries.

Usually scam sites will offer unlimited downloads of films, games, music and app, all for a payment for your free P2P app, like LW Basic, and a membership fee for a non-existent club. Once you have given up your payment details they, the scammers, can charge you what they like, and most of them do. After that you soon find, that like the non-existent club you have joined, the so-called "unlimited downloads" are worthless. Simply because no-one can guarantee that anything will be on the gnutella network where and when you want it.

Scammers have grown rich from this simply scam because internet novices do not check that they are dealing with a legitamate company before they part with their payment details.

Just remember this, if something seems to be too good to be true, especially on the internet, then chances are it is nothing more than a lie.
