Tools option will not operate at all ?? Help

When I click on Tools and then select OPTIONS it then blinks out fast, will not allow me to go into the options menu and alter anything. Does anyone have this same problem and know how to correct this error?

Download AVG Free AV, update it & scan your computer. There's a link for download in the thread below.
