I'm not a wmp expert but try opening wmp and go to Tools>Options, and click on the Privacy tab. Then look under "Enhanced Playback and Device experience" and untick the box by "Acquire licenses automatically for protected content.", then click "Apply". See if that helps.
The other option is to use another media player. CODECs list and alternate players for Movies and Music Setting Default video app
