hi sebring53 :)

Do you have iTunes?

If yes, first you need to get the music into iTunes music library. There's a couple of ways to transfer the music from iTunes to iPod. Manual updating & synching playlists. However the LW playlist you see in iTunes does not apply here. See How to transfer music to my iPod (& iTunes) {click on link}

However if you do not have iTunes, there are plug-ins for other audio programs. Depends what you have. :)

Which version of LW are you using?
The way to make sure is drag & drop the music files onto the Library icon at top left of iTunes (above the playlists.)

If not sure where your music is, I'll need to know which version of LW you are using. :)

BTW LW 5 can auto-import the music files. But that setting needs to be turned on.

Go to LW's Help menu, select About .. it will tell you which version it is. ;)

LW = LimeWire
We abbreviate it so we don't need to type it out 5-10 times per post type of thing. :) Perhaps you do not use LW. Which gnutella network program are you using if any?

But the first link I gave you has simple tutorials on how to add music to iTunes. Simply drag & drop the music files onto iTunes Library icon. Once the songs are in there, create a playlist with those songs, connect your iPod & sync them. Or can choose manual update of iPod. That was what I preferred using. There's video samples of how to add music to your iPod in that first thread I linked you to in post #2.

sebrings53, if you ever have trouble impoting into your iTunes library again, click "File" (in iTunes), and "Add Folder To Library", then select the folder

If using iTunes, put your CD into the computer. iTunes will probably auto-get track names. I normally extract the songs to AIFF format first. Then I convert them to mp3 variable bit-rate. The variable bit-rate I choose from Import settings in main window of iTunes preferences. CLick that button, choose format, I choose mp3, then custom bitrate anywhere between 192 to 320 depending on how much I like the particular song(s). Do not filter frequencies below 10 Hz. I then delete the AIFF format songs in iTunes.

iTunes by default uses aac 160 kbps import settings.

Also, make sure stereo is set to normal, quality is set to high. Otherwise you will end up with joint stereo & low-medium quality conversion.

You can then create a playlist, add those freshly converted mp3 songs to it. Then connect iPod & add the playlist across to it.
