I seriously need help! I can't connect using BearShare

I don't know what to do. I can't connect for some reason. I've checked my firewall settings and they're fine, it's not blocking it. I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling like 20 times. My internet connection is just fine. Bearshare keeps on telling me "unable to connect" whenever I try to sign in. The songs that i've downloaded can't play anymore either. I know that I have to sign in in order to reobtain the music licences, but how can I do that if I can't sigh in and connect?? Please help me on this.

uh ... are you using a new'ish version of BearShare? No wonder you cannot download any music. Which version are you using?

I'm using Bearshare 8. It was working like around 2 weeks ago. Can u tell me what happened?

I've never used any version of BearShare above 5. But if you wish to know the story behind BearShare: http://www.gnutellaforums.com/open-d...sabotaged.html & also Shareaza • View topic - The Story: Shareaza, iMesh, RIAA, and Recent Events gives more details. We generally recommend using the BS 5 beta but it does mean using a time-fix program. And you would also need fresh connection cache: First post of http://www.gnutellaforums.com/host-c...nutella-5.html page with the link & following post explaining how to set to force ultrapeer mode. :)

If your computer automatically installed service pack 3 from Microsoft you could try replacing your gnutella.net file.
Look in the "Connection" forums.
Bearshare and Limewire both work pretty much the same so it's quite often a similar thing that has made your application not work.
It's a bit strange that you can't play the songs that you've already downloaded (unless you're trying to play them with the bearshare built-in player, but you should be able to play them with Microsofts media player. If not, the solution I offered may not fix the problem.
Hope you have some good luck with finding a solution.

Now that would be a trick....

BS doesn't have a gnutella.net file...
