Im in Portugal and a new mac, user i cannot get limewire to work on my mac now..... as 1 year ago it did work any one who can throw me a life saver ?????

I download limewire and when i install it the file says there is nothing to install

Which OSX version are you running, which version of LW are you trying to use?

Ah .. just posted & saw your 2nd post .. that means your OSX is not compatible with the new LW 5. LW 5 requires OSX 10.5 Leopard & Java 1.6 which is limited to intel computer users of OSX 10.5

To downgrade to LW 4 .. you first need to remove the install limewire.pkg file from Receipts folder. Otherwise OSX will refuse to let you install an older version; Receipts folder sample image

thanks tried it but still did not work I have had it working before but re formatted the disk and could not get it tio work again ..... i am dwnldg LW for the correct version 10.4.11 so have no idea

LW 4.16 will work fine on OSX 10.4

Did you do a safe boot & repair permissions; SAFE Boot & Repair Permissions. Reformatting a drive can affect permissions & ownership.

But you WILL need to remove the install limewire.pkg file first before OSX will let you install an earlier version than LW 5 since you already attempted to install LW 5. The message you received is typical of having installed a later version of software & an earlier version installer failing because OSX will not let it install.
