Cheesy DRM protected file

>my os - vista and downloaded music from limewire pro 4.12.15
>tried to play the music using HP media smart music
>received this msg "This is a DRM-protected file. If you want to play this file, you must retrieve a playback license on-line. Do you want to try the license retrieval now?"
>I clicked yes then download the Media Gateway and after I saved it and run the access.exe frm Media Gateway my Norton anti-virus detected and quarantined 2 viruses: 3.exe and wsinstaller.exe
>And I still wasn'table to play the music seems like the Media Gateway is just a bug so I decide to delete it.
>still can't play the music that I download frm limewire pro because of that DRM protected file issue.
>Please help, I'm new to computers and softwares......

I'm guessing this is a WMA file right? I'd highly recommend staying away from WMA files on the network, the higher % of them contain viruses & worse. What you should know about WMA/WMV Files.

I'd recommend you put .WMA into your keyword filter. Then aim for mp3 audio files.

This is a good reference: How to find music

Default wmv/wma (DRM protected file)

thanks for the heads up regarding wmv/wma files, I didn't know that. Will avoid those type of files from now on. Thanks again for the reply.
