thought download was faster w/pro

i have windows vista home pro.
regular windows firewall.
1gb of ram.
160 gb hd, 65 gb unused
broadband cn.
modem wrtg54.
connent from home.
lw5 pro.
no firewall up.
do not know about port or upnp.it is hooked up straight to computer from modem/ from the telephone outlet.
usa, tx.
updated tolw 5.4pro

have problems with downloads, not fast, and do not dwnld
