New User here Hello To everyone, I am a new user so I hope you will be easy on me...LOL. I have recently downloaded an AVI from limewire and when I tried to use Nero to convert it to DVD it says it cannot add that file to Nero. What am I doing wrong or what do I have to do to make it work? Mauro |
can you watch the avi? and if so, what program opens it? |
Try this player VLC - (click on link) to at least see if the video is playable on your computer. :) VLC has in-built codecs, is security safe from DRM website url's & we highly recommend it. ;) |
If it doesn't work using VLC try this one, I love it: GOMPLAYER, it also offers lots of useful Audio, Video ... options. Ps - it is free as well. |
I have only had an issue with Nero one time before. After I reinstalled my operating system(windows xp), I forgot to reinstall the xp codec pack... nero wouldn't regognize any format, until I reinstalled the codecs. (I have nero ultra) |
wow, just seen your post lotr.. how you been?... anyway here is a link for the codecs pack. hope the issue gets resolved soon. Download XP Codec Pack 2.5.1 – XP Codec Pack is one of the most complete codec packs |
I have Windows 7, is there an ad on for that too? |
oh crap. let me check |
it says it comes complete, but here is a link for the codecs packet Windows 7 Codecs | Windows 7 Center |
I too am a new user and need help with Frostwire! Greetings! I am new user and wanted to introduce myself to the forum. I am a vista user and have problems with both Limewire and Frostwire. When I download either one, I check that I am using broadband and don't check for torrent or magnet links, I cannot connect!! What is wrong? Anyone know? Thanks-oummichele |
vista is that grey are in which I'm not too familiar with, but I hear seven is the same... if you get no reply, in the next ten hours, I'll do an install on the big machine, and post the results.. before 10 am chicago time. in the mean time you should check to see if f/w is allowed in the systems programs...(firewallsettings) and also state if you are behind a router. ( I these factors may have some impact ) or maybe one of the other people hear has a bit more input |

is that the best software for windows seven and vista? |
LW works fine on Windows 7. :) I have windows 2000, XP & 7 & LW runs fine on all of them. :) The display looks different in Windows 7 with semi transparency of course. My LW on Win 7 connects fine. :) I deliberately bi-passed Vista due to all the issues I heard about it. I didn't wish to get involved in those types of problems. Vista was a Micro$oft "Lemon". ;) |
i am a new user & suggest me any triks |

I am also new :) but, I have been using Limewire for OSX and the PC version for a good while now. The best trick I can recommend for the PC version (LW 5.4.8, Java 1.6.0_18) and since it works (I just recently discovered) When it comes to movies; Google the "title"<spc>"torrent" (ex. Star Wars torrent ) follow obvious protocol, click download torrent and the prompt to continue download should pop-up in the (PC ver.) LW program. Apparently, My Mac OS isn't up to date so I am using older version of LW on it (LW 4.12.6, Java 1.4.2_12) which doesn't support that feature. The reason I point all this out is the search functions are not the same. Search thru LW is very limited. A :google: "torrent" search is much more satisfying. That's my tip. Good luck and enjoy. *Email address removed for your own protection - please read the rules* ______________________________________ Edited to comply with the House Rules. Test Greetings, Harry1234 :) My tip to you... I have an AMD Sempron LE-1200, 2.11Ghz, 896MB running OS XP_SP2 and LW 5.4.8 Java 1.6.0._18. Assuming your using a PC -- Google a movie title. (ex. Star Wars Torrent, X-Files Torrent, or Frank Zappa Torrent ect...) Choose a site (Ex. ISOhunt) choose file to download. Click download. Wait for LW to confirm download. Click icon to continue. Wait for download to complete. Done. I usually watch *.AVI files and watch them with VLC media player (v1.0.5 Goldeneye) I also have a Mac PowerPC 750 (Blue Tower) 400Mhz with 896MB with LW 4.12.6 Java 1.4.2_12 and the biggest difference outside of the big fact that my Mac is out of date software wise thus can't run the latest version of LW for OS X is that the torrent trick does not work. Now this might be do to the version of LW I am using due to my OS limitation but, LW for OS X as well as the PC version has a built in search feature... But, nothing beats a Google "Torrent" search. Email me if you have questions or problems with my tip. Good luck :D *email address removed for your own protection - please read the rules* ________________________________________ Edited to comply with the House Rules.
