Hi I am new to Limewire or at least I will soon. I am currently using Vuze and I would like to see the difference before I decide which one to keep. My experience with Vuze is 4 months.

Welcome to the Gnutella forums!

LW searches Gnutella, the largest p-p net. I have found that it is often easier to use LW to quickly grab an mp3. I also found LW useful in that it allowed me to search hosts for material foreign to me. LW can handle a few torrents, but it does not track share ratio, which often prevents getting an optimum dl speed. LW is also banned from some torrent sites.

Vuze (second only to uTorrent in popularity) is an excellent torrent client. Last week I used Vuze to get a movie that was released in '08, and I was able to download it in 16 minutes (reached speeds in excess of 1 MB/sec).

My recommendation: keep Vuze and check out Frostwire. FW is very similiar to LW, (perhaps closer to LW Pro), and is free.

Due to litigation. expect LW to go through some changes in the very near future.
