Video play time different than download time

Hi, I'm paradyes69.
When I download some vids from Limewire, they might be 34 mins in length, but when I try to play them on RealPlayer, WinMedia, QuickTime or any other player, they come up as 22 secs or 26 secs. I can skip around the time slider and see different parts of the video, but it doesn't play in sequence for the full length. Some video downloads come up on the player in a normal fasion.
Anyone have an idea what's going on?
I'm on WinXP, LimewirePro

Greetings paradyes69,

Welcome to the Gnutella forums!

Since it appears that the videos are complete, your problem is probably a CODEC (code/decode) issue. You can download and install CODECs to your WMP, but many here recommend the less-bloated and free VLC Player. It comes with all necessary CODECs installed, and should be able to play all your videos. It's easy to find via Google.

I found that WMP, RealPlayer, QT, and WM are all too bloated for my tastes.
