re : Limewire 5.2.1

The site Limewire is closed by a law in the States (USA). This same law affect many other sites to download mp3, mp4, documents, videos, etc...

Now we do not have any site to download music, except i-tunes.
Anybody knows others sites not yet affected

When using LimeWire you were not downloading files from sites. The Gnutella network is a protocol where people are able to connect to each other using any of the gnutella programs such as LimeWire, Phex, etc. and share files. Person to person, peer to peer, p2p.

The official LW site is not allowed to distribute the actual program. However the program can be obtained via other sources. Look around and you will find such links on these forums. :)

I'm still happily using LimeWire. I am presently using the LW Pirate Edition; http://www.gnutellaforums.com/gettin...e-edition.html. You can also still use any of the LW 5.5.10 or earlier versions if you use one of the connection fixes that can be found on these forums. (Any version between 5.5.11-5.5.16 had auto-update functions which force it to stop working.)

Hello my name is springtom51 and I have some questions about limewire probllems

LimeWire 5.2.1 questions or a later version? Which version are you using? :) LW was up to version 5.5.x before it closed. Any version after 5.5.10 should not be touched, unless it's a 5.6.x version.

well I paid for annual membership to limewire pro, then it was closed. I would like to get my money back, or be able to use the program. I was only into about 6 months of my suspricption when it closed. They should give me a refund or tell me how to use it.

You can use the LPE (LimeWire Pirate Edition) which seems like LW Pro when it's used. It connects to same no. of ultrapeers.

Otherwise, depending on your OS platform, it is still possible to run LW 5.5 Pro on your system if you previously had 5.5 pro on it. However, LPE connects much much easier. LW itself tends to have connection problems.

(1) http://www.gnutellaforums.com/gettin...e-edition.html _ OR _ (2) LW still works fine with version 5.5.10, but do not attempt to use later version !!! but you will need a connection fix for it if using LW 5.5 ;)

And no, not possible for a refund for two reasons. (i) The company never gave refunds & specified their reason after purchase in their small print links (ii) The LW company is not dissolved but no longer operating as it was. They would not choose to deal with such issues now; ie: they canceled all Pro registrations late last year. (A small chance you might be speaking directly to a RIAA representative even if you did email them.)
