Desperately need help! (how to get slideshow to play on my TV)
 

Hello all...I am new to this forum and need some help bad!
I am creating a slideshow for my Daughter's wedding with music. I had it complete and it played on my dvd player, but had to add more pics and different music...now it will not play...it is saved as a wmv file...it was finalized and verified...please tell me how to get it to play on my tv...in very simple terms, please...I'm getting ready to throw my computer out the window.

Hi Kat909

I guess that since you have not supplied any technical info, such as what type of DVD disk you are using and the name and version of your burning software, you are probably a novice.

That said, you made a simple mistake and that is to do multiple burns on one DVD disk, what you should do is only do one burning session per DVD or CD disk, that way you will get the best results.

So the next time you plan to burn a CD or DVD just insure you have enough material for one burning session only.

Ok..here's the deal...I am making the slideshow in Adobe Photoshop Elements 6 and I have Adobe Premier Elements 4, also. I am using a DVD-R and have also used DVD+RW. When I burn them...they finalize and it asks me to verify and I also do that. I was able to burn one and view it on my DVD player, but needed to add/make changes, and after that...it will not play.
Any ideas? they seem to be saved after burning in my organizer as a wmv file.

Only use DVD-R and only do one burning session, (optionally) verify if you like.

I guess the big question here is how did you approach making the changes...\

seems to me the only way to be successful would be to edit the file in the form as you originally created it (i.e. in the appropriate adobe product) then to burn it again from scratch...if you by chance tried to make changes directly on the DVD RW then that of course (IMO) would fail...

Lots of different ways to create slideshows with music for viewing from a DVD. I'm on Mac so I cannot make direct suggestions. Also, I use Final Cut Pro & DVD Studio Pro for the more complex projects so likewise maybe not comparable. However, Premier & FCP do have some kind of similarities. (And I've used Photoshop since it's simplistic days of version 1, but do not pretend to be any kind of expert.)
My thoughts are, go back to Premiere & do a Save As, add the extra images & possibly extra music. Then do the same kind of output/export as you did originally.

I've a hobby project that's been continuous for 5 years lol .. once a year or less bring it out & make a few changes. Originally objective was to convert a PAL VHS concert video to DVD since the concert of that artist has never been released onto DVD. I added slideshows & music from CD's & mp3's to make up the rest. Then decided to move to DVD-9 (7.6 GB actual workable size) & add more, plus some film clips, & do a % of music as PCM instead (the latter takes up a particularly large amount of space.) Project Save As, is used within DVD Studio Pro. But projects like mine get into the more complex options of multiple 'story' options, etc.

Not sure why your Organiser would save it all as WMV. I'm sure there is an option to disable that. WMV whilst a shareable format between computers, is not the most ideal for cross-platform sharing ( ie: Mac & Linux.)
