Limewire wrecked my windows installation!

I have had this problem 2 times now. It's it so annoying it leads me to having to re-install windows (F**K!!!!!!!!!!!!!)

What happens is this:
I install limewire.
It runs fine but when it comes to rebooting/restarting the computer my Win2000 computer just comes up with a black screen. It's like it has frozen after it has shut down. The only way to get it working is by pressing the reset button on the PC's case and i'm sure that's not good for the OS over a extended period of time.

The same problem happened to me back in somewhere around September 2001 aswell with the same software. It's the EXACT same problem as I am having now. The only thing that I know to do is to reinstall windows.

It's also completely f**ked up my Office installation too. I had to re-install that!

And don't tell me it's from some other piece of software because one of my friends has had the same problem - straight after he installed limewire.

Can any of you tell me if the problem is fixable and how to go about it before I re-install windows again?

It's probably from some other piece of software. I don't know if it was TopMoxie or the crappy windows installer. Next time, get LimeWire without the installer and without TopMoxie, by the way:
