If you have a UDF writing driver and a CD-RW drive, you can save a file directly to a CD-RW disc from any program. For example, when my mom uses WordPerfect on her PC at work, she can save documents directly to cd.

I don't recommend packet writing though cuz it becomes unreliable after a while.
