need help, keep losing songs!

Ahh! About a week ago, I accidentaly deleted a folder in my 'library' and the only folder I had left was the incomplete folder. I'm downloading songs fine, but they disappear since (I think anyway) there's no folder for it to go to. Should I uninstall it and then reinstall (and how do you uninstall LW??)? Anyway, any help would be great since this has been frustrating me!!

You need to be very, very careful about deleting items from the Library window!!! If you wish to stop sharing a particular folder, you go to Tools-Options & Sharing & click on the folder you wish removed & press the Remove button. Then press Apply & OK buttons. Deleting items from the Library window actually deletes them from your computer.

OK, it looks as though you also shared your LW Dwnld folder. And since you deleted it, it will no longer show in the LW Library window.

Go to Tools-Options-Saving & Browse for your LW Dwnld folder. If not found, then you'll need to create a new one. Then go to Options-Sharing & add this same folder & any others you wish to share to the share folders list. Press Apply & OK buttons.
You could try searching your comp for any files/folders you think might have been deleted. If you can't locate them & then probably the only way to get them back would be to use a disk utility that can retrieve deleted files. You'd need to do it fairly quickly though, because otherwise if you continue to save files they will overwrite the imprint of the deleted files. A hard lesson to learn.

I tried to create a new folder, but it wouldn't let me saying that it couldn't store incomplete files in another folder or something like that. I'll try what you said, but if it doesn't work, I really want to uninstall LW and reinstall it. I think that would be easier. Thank you for your help!:)
Oops, I forgot, how do you uninstall LW?

Yes you can reinstall if you wish. Use the control panel for Add/Remove programs.

It sounds as though your Save directory is set to save within your incomplete folder (unless I'm mistaken.) Your save (dwnld folder) & incomplete folders will be in the same directory level. So perhaps you need to select the mother of a folder further back, lol. Just to be sure they are both in the same level & folder. Alternatively, if you originally chose the default location, then just press default button (but make sure you have a record of all your other settings!) Here's an example:

Thank you! I had to reinstall it but since my songs were already down the drain, it didn't matter. Right now its working great! :D

jaudio: Your question doesn't really have anything to do with this topic. Create a new thread in the connection problems section but before you do, read the stickies at the top of the section & also search your problem. And if yo still need to create a thread supply all details as suggested here: http://www.gnutellaforums.com/announ...?s=&forumid=29
