Hepl please....problems & much frustration

I just purchased and downloaded limwire. I wanted to be able to download music. It does not work . It says "enabling open" at the bottom of the screne,the lime at the top turns. It doesnt ever say connected. Help please to get this fixed and working. Thanks in advance for info. Ramona
