I installed, it but get an error when I try to open it

I haven't been able to open limewire yet because everytime I try to I get an error message saying the program has completed an illegal operation.

I'd suggest you uninstall it using your Add/Remove Programs control panel. Then install the beta 4.3.3 which overcomes some of the bugs in LW 4.2 http://www.limewire.com/english/content/beta.shtml
