![]() I have been trying to download Limewire pro 4.6 for the whole day. I even let it be stuck on installing Java for a couple of hours to see if it would change, but nothing happened. Also, i can't close the setup menu no matter what i try. My computer has 12.8GB of memory so i don't believe that it's the problem. someone please help me!! I would really appreciate it! |

![]() sorry, forgot to add that i already have Java on my computer. I have even tried removing it and reinstalling it but it still won't work. I also am not able to close the setup window for some reason. Again, thanks for your help! |

![]() Yep I'd would recommend installing Java 1st. Don't install Java over the net but from your HDD: Java 1.5 (take the JRE) Likewise for LW, download the LW installer & SAVE it to your HDD. Then install it. Make sure there's no other programs running during the installation process. In fact, I rebooted after downlding it & before installing LW. Although the site says it's LW 4.6 it is actually 4.8. If you still have problems then there is an alternative installer I think. You just unzip it & use it. See Here about other version. If still problems after that then do a registry clean: some choices ones if you don't have a registry cleaner |

![]() Help me please! I'm on the verge of chucking my computer out the window. I downloaded limewire about 4 or 5 times but I cannot get it to install, it keeps getting stuck on installing Java. I tried downloadind java but I can't get that to install either. Why is this happening to me? I have AVG Free anti-virus and Kerio personal firewall. I'm using Windows XP. I haven't downloaded service pack 2. Is somebody trying to punish me for wanting to download music? Last edited by ruby; April 27th, 2005 at 07:50 AM. |

![]() Do you have a registry cleaner? (Get one here otherwise: Free Registry Cleaner) Might be an idea to give your computer a run over. Then Save the Java installer program to your computer. Then install Java. If it still won't let you then you may have another version already there. Then go to your Add/Remove Programs Control panel & remove Java & then try to install again. |

![]() What does a registry cleaner do? (Excuse my ignorance!) I'll give it a go anyway. After I posted the last message, I tries to install again and a message came up saying the installation couldn't go ahead because of something to do with the internet proxy settings. What should the proxy settings be? how do I check and/or change them? I think I'm losing my mind... Last edited by ruby; April 28th, 2005 at 08:13 AM. |
