Opening Limewire

HI, I HAVE RECENTLY WENT FROM LIMEWIRE PRO THAT WAS A OLDER VERSION TO LIMEWIRE BASIC 4.8.1. IT WONT OPEN THOUGHT, IT GOES HOURGLASS FOR 2 SECONDS AND THEN GOES AWAY AND NOTHING OPENS. I HAVE CONTACTED COMPUTER TECH SUPPORT AND THEY TOLD ME I HAD TO CONTACT LIMEWIRE. I HAVE TRYED DISABLING FIREWALLS AND THAT DIDNT FIX THE PROBLEM. ANY ADVICE WOULD BE GREATLY APPRECIATED.

THANKS

I gave you the wrong test sorry! lol :D
Do this simple test for us. Using your browser go here: http://www3.limewire.com:6346/ The page should say ‘Test Page was a Success’. What happens when you go there?

Have you updated your operating system or video cards recently since you've had this problem?

mdiddy March 10th, 2005 05:55 AM

Your test page was a success! so true.. i have installed a new video card and hard drive recently however i was running limewire pro 4.0.8 that i downloaded but it kept saying a newer version is available at the bottom of the program so i did that.. and after a couple days of the new one working it just kept not opening... and it makes me mad cause i loved limewire... PLEASE HELP

Lord of the Rings March 10th, 2005 06:10 AM

Can you tell us which video card? Was it ati or something else & do you know which version update you did? See this: http://www.gnutellaforums.com/showth...threadid=34408

frozenguy March 10th, 2005 08:16 AM

mdiddy March 10th, 2005 09:09 PM

Lord of the Rings March 11th, 2005 03:58 AM

Dare I repeat, I hope this helps but it has for a no. of people that the last driver update for ati card has caused problems so the answer was to roll back to the previous version ati driver. Read this post ATI Graphics card driver update has Bug (click on this link here!)
