I download limewire from the homwpage and it installs ok but when I run it I get a blue screen of death and it begins dump of physical memory...

Not unless you supply some more details. The BSD is generally due to hardware issues. It sometimes happens whilst opening LW so some people associate it with LW. More often than not it's a graphics card issue or some other hardware that requires driver updates or is just not well compatible with the system.
