Language Error

Hi there,

Anybody could explain to me the reason why I cannot install LimeWire Lite with english or french or another language but Norvegian? I tried many times (3 or 4) to uninstall and re-install it using the appropriate Java and Windows prereq. and never I ha the chance to find the monitor using the required language.
If any have an idea. Thanks in advance.

Go to LW's menu View>Languages>Norwegian or whichever language you'd prefer. After changing language you 'might' need to re-open LW for it to take effect. eg: http://www.gnutellaforums.com/showth...6994#post96994 which is changing from german to english

When you 1st install LW it gives you the option of which language you want the installer instructions to be in.

The message shown above in the "pipermail" mail archive is a response I made to someone asking for help to the translate Limewire mailing list.

We have received several similar requests on the translate list, so use this response as a reference. After this response, I did not receive further requests for help.

It's probable that Limewire should change the location of the "Change language" option, from the "View" menu where it is not enough visible or accessible, to an icon button near the Limewire logo, that, when pressed, would display a dialog window querying the user for which language to select.

This dialog window should list languages in a scrolling list, and the user should have to press OK to select it effectively, or the user could cancel or close the window.

This would avoid selecting the "change language" menu option by error when dragging the mouse over the menus.

I suggest that this icon button displays a small flag for the current language, or a single icon showing several flags.

The look of this "flags" icon button would also help users that did not select initially the proper language, without having to decipher and search through translated menus....
