Fabion, you out there?

Just read one of your posts: I seem to have the same problem and have a Dell with an ATI9800 pro card. Did you uninstall all the ATI stuff and then install the Dell drivers? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

Is your comp. a DELL by chance. If it is you need to get the updated drivers from DELL and not ATI.

My comp. is a DELL and I found this out a couple of months ago when I did video driver updates from ATI. I had to uninstall the ATI drivers and install the DELL drivers for my video card to work right even though the video card is made by ATI.

Don't ask me what the difference is I have no idea, but everything straightened up with my video card when I installed the DELL drivers.

Yes that is how I did it. I uninstalled all ATI item in add remove programs.

Then I went to the DELL website support section and d/l the updates. FYI I also updated my bios at the same time, and all the other the stuff that was available.

You just need to search through the list, and see what you need to update.

Fabion, Thanks for the info! I tried it...installed the Dell ATI drivers after uninstalling what I already had installed...also installed the BIOS upgrade like you did...didn't help Limewire at all! There must be something that's interferring with Limewire so the graphics don't show up right...Limewire 4.07 seems to work just fine without the graphic glitches. Appreciate you trying to help regardless! Thanks.

Hmmm interesting I didn't have a problem, but your setup may be slightly different.

I did see this post though. http://www.gnutellaforums.com/showth...threadid=35970

might be related. Not sure

Fabion, I tried that too but it didn't make any difference! You know, now I have another problem...when I downloaded the DELL BIOS upgrade to my desktop and ran it, it installed alright but now I can't delete the BIOS upgrade file from the desktop...it says it's in use by another program! I even tried a CHAT with Dell support...they couldn't figure out how to delete the file from the desktop either!?

Never was impressed with DELL support.

Did you try rebooting the comp. after the flash update ran and installed the new version.

Fabion, I just found the cure for my problem! After right-clicking on the Limewire Icon, I set the compatablility mode to Windows 2000 (I have WinXP) and now all the graphics show up on the limewire screens! Go figure??

Hmmm I'm thinking there might be a compatabilty problem between the display adapters and LW. It seems to happen with other display adapter also. Mainly with one that have a dual mode option.

Glad you got it figured out. It will most definetly help other members. The software developers will probably look at it also, and try and come up with a fix hopefully.

Although I haven't suffered the issue as other have, but then it may be my setup.

Yes, I rebooted...you have to, to get it to pickup the new BIOS information I guess. Even tried to re-download the BIOS update and save it in another folder...run it from there and then try to delete it from desktop...still won't delete! I think the DELL tech was from India or so his name appeared to be!? No speaka too gooda english!
