Limewire Won't Run I don't know if this is an installation problem or not, but I think this is the right place for it. I've downloaded Limewire repeat times tonight. After every attempt, when I exit the installation after I finish downloading, the program does not run. I have "Run LimeWire" selected at the end, and I recieve no action. Nothing happens. When I try going to the program to try and manually start it, nothing happens. Is there a problem with the installation? Or is there somewhere I can find the answer to this? |
I dunno man... the same thing happened to me... im trying to figure it out 2. |
I downloaded limewire basic and i get this exact same problem...the hourglass comes up for mayeb a second then goes away and nothing happens |
I have a similar issue, I get up to the "Run Limewire" part of installation, and everytime it crashes, asking me whether or not i want to send an error report. Is there another installer or something? |
I also get this, I think the download is corrupted, because I use to have Limewire... |
Uninstall both LW & Java & reinstall both. For LW go to Start menu>Programs>LW & choose uninstall. For Java choose remove from the Add/Remove Programs Control panel. Then downld both LW & Java & save both installers to your computer (DON'T install over the net!!!) Then install Java 1st. Then LW. For Java try a link from here: Fixes for Limewire It might also be worth deleting your LW preferences folder whilst LW is closed before re-installing LW. ;) |
I used limewire pro and somehow it stopped working .. everytime i clicked on it .. hourglass for few seconds and then nothing. the problem started when I installed anothere P2P program (emule) and it didn't matter how many times i installed limewire.. same problem.. (now the older version 4.0.1 worked great).. Here is the soultion per last post from Lord of Rings.. You really need to follow step by step. Unistall both Jave and limewire. download java (1.4) and Limewire (basic). Don't try to insatll from a limewire that you might have downloaded from a p2P. Also if you are running Norton.. remove all the limewire permission. Now Install Jave and then Limewire (basic) .. wala .. it works.. now if you want to upgrade to Pro that u might have .. you can do so.. any error reporting just ignore (few Times for me). Now Limewire is back on.. i like to thank "Lord of Rings) |
OK, uninstalled both lw and java per post, downloaded both installers to disk , installed java then lw, and as soon as i try to open lw, it crashes, asking if i want to send error report. I tried opening port 6346, but that didn't work. Does my comp just not want to run lw? |
Thank you LOR for fixing my problem, god bless. |
YOU DA MAN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! |
Hey, I'm having the exact same problem. I have Pro and i click on it and the hourglass appears and then...nothing. The thing is, since i payed for Pro I don't want to uninstall everything and then download it again and have it be Basic as well as have my money go to waste! What should I do about this? |
Lw Won't Run now, I know to uninstall, then install, etc. etc. But, I payed for Pro and I don't want to uninstall it and then install Basic and then have all my money go to waste! Please help! |
Re-Install PRO How do I re-install PRO if it's not opening?????????????? |
Lime Ware Problem Listen guys I fill you out there I also have the same problem and it seem there is know answer to correct this problem. I have check and clean my registry for problems and i still can get it to run. I think the company have change the download version knowing that it will not run on your computer. The want you to buy it |
grr.ace did you try uninstalling & re-installing Java? That's probably the best way to go. If Java 1.5 doesn't fix your issue then try Java 1.4.2. For some reason one version of Java will run better on some people's systems than others. See the link I gave earlier in this thread for a link to Java. By the way, if you're still within your 6 mths of purchasing LW Pro, then you can re-downld it. Next time save the installer to your computer (instead of installing over the net) & make a backup copy onto an external device such as external HDD or cd-r or cd-rw, etc. |
Yup...same problem here. Limewire won't run.
Everytime I install Limewire it works fine. No problem during the installation. It successfully finishes the installation. And then when I try and run it I just get these 2 seconds of "cursor-and-hourglass" and then nothing. Running WinXP and SP2 (sadly) Could it have something to do with SP2? cheers Heinz [edit] Haha...more news
