Java Installed... or not installed...HELP!

I have downloaded jre-1_5_0_02-windows-i586-p.exe on my system, after being promted to do (message when i tried to open LIMEWIRE) from the jave.com site. It is the latest version and tested fine... however, i still get the message saying there is no suitable environment on my system and to download it from java.com.

I have installed it, restarted, tested the java, etc... but still get this message. Note the test was successful with the cartoon charector.

I also did the "recomended" thing, let windows configure the new java platform.

I am running limewire 4.8.1, which i had gotten from this site and was forwarded to Cnet downloads. Then downloaded it.

What is going on?

Is there an issue with WINXP SP2? Could there be something else going on?

I have even re installed Limewire, after uninstalling it, after a reboot from java install.

I also took down the firewall for downloading, etc., since it was recomended.

To the best of my knowlege, I know i did everything correct, including getting the WINDOWS version of java.

Someone please help me get this figured out... so i don't have to use other programs for downloading.
