i am having the same problem, i think i started another thread by accident. sorry. |
Use the installer in the link below it should solve your problem. Just click the link http://www.gnutellaforums.com/showth...threadid=43845 |
that is the one i used to download limewire with in the first place. still have the problem. any other suggestions? |
Are you stalling at the firewall setup? |
yes. the screen that says "Limewire needs to receive information from the network in order to function properly. When you click next, some firewalls will ask your permission for Limewire to use the network. You should allow Limewire full access. Below is a picture of Windows Firewall asking to unblock Limewire.Your Firewall software may look different." Then I click next, then my Norton Security window pops up telling me Limewire is trying to connect to a DNS server, then I choose "Always allow connections from this program on all ports", then I click OK, then it freezes. Now what? |
Did you try the regular installer first the recommended one or did you just go to the full installer and use it. |
i tried the regular installer first, and that wouldn't even allow me to install limewire onto my computer because of the firewall. i tried it a few times, after re-configuring my windows firewall settings and disabling my norton anti-virus (just in case there were additional firewalls there that i didn't know how to manually disable without completely disabling norton) nothing worked. then i tried the full installer, and that allowed me to install the program onto my computer, but then it would freeze on the "firewall setup" portion of the setup wizard. and you know the rest. |
