Default Installation issues

I just tried to install the new version of Limewire (about a dozen times) from both the online and offline instalation files and I keep getting "this installation is corrupted. please download and install limewire again"

I've searched through the forum and found no answer to this problem. Can someone please help?? I am trying to install the Basic version, I would buy the full version, but I'm unsure if it will work as well.

Thanks

Joe

If the basic isn't working Pro probably will not either and by the way I do not think you will find that topic in the forum I have never seen this problem before.Where are you getting LW from and where did you get the version you have been running from.
Did you get both versions from the official site.

I am up and running now. There are a few other threads about the error I was getting, so it is on the site, just no answer.

I did get the downloads from the official site.

What I had to do was upgrade my Windows 2000 to service pack 4 (I was running 3) and now it works.

im running 2000 server with SP2 and no hotfixes (before the flames start, i keep this in this installation state on this non-critical testing machine to test security advisories on 2000 installs, which are rare these days). limewire works for me unless it was a microsoft installer issue..

i definately keep this thing behind a firewall.
