Help Please.

I have no clue what to do anymore. I can't delete any of limewire in my hard drive because they say it's being used. I can't download any version of the limewire now. I don't know what I'm doing and I don't understand where to go from here. I don't have any icons, it's not in my add of remove programs, I don't know where to look and how to get this fixed. When I bought the limewire system it sent me to the members area. Was this a third party or was it the offical site. I need some answers and maybe someone to hold my hand to help me. PLEASE.

Did you get your LimeWire from the official site. www.limewire.com

I've heard of bad things that have happened to people that got LimeWire from scam sites. This unfortunatly might have happened to you.

what to do

I got it off of freemusic.com, and i paid 17.99 to get into limewire and it even brought me to the members area, I tried to download the newer version and it said it was still running in the system tray? What is the system tray? I don't know what to do next but I can't get a hold of tech support all circuits are busy. And when I tried chat they were closed on a Thursday and 10:00. I'm thinking Limewire is a joke, once they have you download their newest version without telling you to shut down your old one, and you hit abort they make it impossible to get the files back, and you can't delete them because they are in use. Totally screwed. I'm tired of looking thru my system can't find nothing to help. I'm done. I'm cancelling the payment tomarrow. Maybe then I'll get some help.

Do a contol-alt-delete & bring up Task Manager, if you see LW listed, stop it. Normally you'd go to Start menu>Programs>Limewire>Uninstall. That's the way to remove LW properly. Else go the the LW program folder & look for the uninstaller.

BTW You paid for a scam version of LW. You should see http://www.gnutellaforums.com/showth...5&pagenumber=1
You did not purchase from the official site so thus, you paid for the LW basic version which is FREE from here: http://www.limewire.com/english/content/download.shtml

With a scam version you don't know what you might have ended up with. It could have virii, adware, spyware, etc.
